Tenorio white water Rafting
A beautiful river that rises at Tenorio Volcano at Guanacaste mountain range, it’s pure and white water makes it the best river on Guanacaste area for rafting. You can combine almost 20 kilometers of rapids with magnificent landscapes surrounded by tropical forest.
No experience required but good effort needed it on this world famous class III and IV white water rafting, This challenging river will take the energy out of you, that's why we will have a very complete and delicious lunch. Our staff will make you feel confident and our modern and certified equipment will let you mount the rapids smoothly.
Your half-day trip down the Tenorio River is a high-octane expedition down Class III and IV white water rapids. You'll be picked up at your Guanacaste resort to be whisked away to one of the most scenic places in the area for the thrilling ride.
Before you begin, your bilingual guide will make sure you’re safely equipped with life jackets and helmets, and teaching your team to work together to paddle and navigate over small falls and rapids.
Activities
Once at the operation center, we’ll hit the road and go to the river, located 30 minutes away, the team of guides will have the safety equipment ready (life jackets, helmets, and paddles).Â
As well you will receive the safety talk before departing with all the instructions to follow along the ride, Experience over 22 fun, exciting rapids along 12 kilometers of river, like 2 hrÂ
 This unique rafting tour finishes with a super exciting, 12-foot waterfall drop called "CascabelFalls". When you arrive to the end of your exciting rafting journey at our private river exit, The tour includes a fresh fruit snack and the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife along the way such as iguanas, tropical birds and monkeys, do a quick hike to the 4x4 vehicle to drive out of this isolated, unspoiled region of Costa Rica. You’ll then be treated to a delicious lunch and allowed to use our changing rooms before heading on your way to your hotel in time for a glorious Pacific sunset.
Tenorio River Whitewater Rafting departs daily from all hotels in Guanacaste, including hotels in Playas del Coco, Ocotal, Playa Hermosa and Riu Guanacaste Hotels. As well we at Papagayo Gulf as Andaz Papagayo, Four Seasons Costa Rica and Planet Hollywood Costa Rica. We also pick up at Tamarindo Beach, Playa Potrero, Flamingo, Conchal and Langosta.
Practical Information
- Wear comfortable clothes and water shoes
- Bring insect repellent and biodegradable sunscreen
- Bring plastic bag, towels, bathing suit and extra clothes
- Children younger than 12 years are not allowed (the minimum height requirement is 1'7")
- Not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart problems or physical limitations
- All participants must sign a release of liability
- Be aware that travel time to the activity may change depending of your hotel
